David Golding, with his wife, Martha, created my site so you would be able to easily hear what you wanted, read what you wanted, make comments as you like.

I’m ashamed to say I didn’t take full advantage of all the toys he set up for me. I’m awful at blogging. For him, I will resolve to do better. I’m horrendous at social media and building a fan base. Maybe someone has some suggestions for me. I’ll be happy to listen!! (and grateful too) But then again, David believed in me enough to do this site out of a sheer desire to do it. So I resolve to have more of a presence here. Sisters\’ Solace (for David)

David passed away a few weeks ago now. I still feel a bit of shock about it, which is odd. I mean, I do work with stage IV breast cancer clients and with hospice clients. I spend a lot of days of the week in the company of the dying. However, David was the kind of guy who doesn’t die; too wise, too kind, too magnetic in his own way. Those guys don’t die. Look at Steve McQueen or Paul Newman. They’re not really gone; they’ve become so much a part of our lives that we see them on the big screen and feel them every time someone says their name or quotes them. They still have influence over us, and if we watch for the clues they drop around us like bombs, they provide us their guidance through rocky shores.

So, if you’re out there listening, Dave: I promise to do ya betta. I’ll write more, visit the site more, work on driving mo folks there so they can see what a beautiful site you did for me. I will try my best to be worthy of your wonderful work and I will honor Martha’s careful watch.

And I’ll see ya soon.

Luv ya, Squids

(Nita Hope)

I’m really glad you found me! Welcome to my happy, happy lil pink world. Ahhhh, feelin’ the relaxation?

Jes wanna shout out to David and Martha Golding at Lighthouse Design for the great new site (I know you know it is!) and for getting me back in touch with all y’all. So great ta see ya again, yay!

So, to fill you in on what’s goin on, I’m currently starting a project with the great Bill Gaunce…..a lil soul thing happenin’. Yes! Just finished up a couple of jazz cowrites with Bob Mete and one cowrite that is beyond description (literally, we’re trying to figure out what it is exactly!) with Vikki Flawith and getting to work next week on a jazz/blues cowrite with Steve Davis. Still have Janet Chitty’s (Just Another Day in the Burbs) cowrite to go, (that’s gonna be fun!) and many, many more. I’m excited about each and every one and it’s great to get to know new writers and have a chance to experiment and help them get the lil suckas where they need to go to be happy and make us happy too. I’ll fill you in as we go.

Also, still counseling breast cancer clients on the side as well as hospice clients, in school full-time and watchin’ my baby graduate from high school next week. Girl’s all grown up now (she says sadly, tears welling, lol). However, she isn’t heading off anywhere, still be all hangin’ at a nearby college so that’s a relief! My son’s great and ready to freakin’ be on summer vacation (starts this week, along with my summer semester, waaaah!), hubby’s livin’ large as always, Katrina kitties/cats are gettin’ weaned and heading to new homes, housecats good (check!), dog’s great (check!) and my car’s running on solid gold these days, apparently. At least according to my bank. :p How about you? All y’all feelin’ the pinch? Discuss! :)

Anyway, have a look around, listen to tunes, enjoy all the neat new toys!

Meantime, back to recording. All ya’ll have a joyeaux day, heah?
