Reach out. Give. Live.
Foreward by Jaclynne Ross
Breast cancer is not courage. It is heartbreak and heartbreaking beauty, isolation and joy, collusion and truth. It is abandonment and self-sufficiency, rage and gratitude, relentless and fulfilling. Above all, it is a journey without end.
I know Nita and have always called her Hope. There are no coincidences. The nickname she herself chose is also who she is to me. She has revived my hope. I'm not the only one. Rhonda, Millie and Diane have been inspired by Hope and have helped create this album.
This music was built from the numbing and weary burdens that come with cancer. It tells of the loss of the dreams and possibilities we once held dear. It shows that gaping hole being filled with the healing of time; healing that is created by renewed hopes, different hopes, hopes once again.
We survivors who know Hope have learned the truth; to be alive is to have hope. Our Hope is fiercely alive.
